As seasons change and old friends move on, we get to welcome new faces to the world of Swell-O-Phonic and WIlai. One that you will be seeing week in and week out is our new Floor Manager, Summer DeLoach.
Summer is from the small-town of Laurel, MS, but chose Jackson as her home because she loves the city and sees it as a spot with so much potential for growth. “It just needs people to believe in it and invest their time here,” she says.
The first time she heard about the Fondren area was after seeing a "Keep Fondren Funky" sticker on a friend's laptop. “It sounded like an area I needed to visit and now that I've worked here for a minute I can say with absolute certainty that Fondren and its folks are in fact very FUNKY.”
Summer has always believed in shopping and supporting local artisans and entrepreneurs. She says that “Wilai and Swell-O-Phonic are original as far as local shops go. I've never seen a small business that encompasses so many aspects of 'indie life' (at least not in Mississippi).”
